Welcome to the beauty of our homestead set in the lush, rolling hills of central Ohio!
I grew up running wild in the fields and gardens at our family farm in northeast Ohio. I learned a lot about how to garden, cook, and preserve from my mom, plus how to use wild and cultivated plants for wellness (folk herbalism). When I moved away from the family farm there were many, many moves across Ohio and New York, but I always had something green growing, even if it was a little window box of herbs.
Once we settled on our little homestead, I started growing herbs to harvest for culinary and natural health support. Various flowers were planted soon after and are grown for their beauty while offering a spot for pollinators to land. Nothing makes me happier than walking the land, looking at the cultivated flower fields, harvesting herbs and vegetables in the garden and still running (okay, more like walking now) through the wildflower fields and woods looking at what is growing.
Living a slower pace and being present for the natural cycles and rhythms here in the country help counter our commutes and careers. We are opening up our place occasionally for classes to foster community and share what we know. The flower fields, as well as the wildflowers native to Ohio, are a colorful and charming backdrop for photographers and are enjoyed through events for the community, including yoga classes, wellness classes, and u-picks. We hope you are able to book a photo session, class, or simply enjoy a fresh flower bouquet!
